After his Master of Law degree (with honours) LL.M. Maarten MICHIELS obtained the Master diploma in environmental law (with honours). In the context of his master’s thesis he specialised in the problems of contaminated soils (sanitation criteria, sanitation targets, sanitation duty and financing problems).

LL.M. Maarten MICHIELS started his career in 2008 at the Bar Association Brussels as an authority in the field of environmental planning and environmental law at the law office Lydian Lawyers.

In 2010, he joined the office Adius Lawyers. In addition to the broad field of environmental law (environmental planning, environment, soil,…), he is also specialised in civil liability law, property disputes, contractual disputes and criminal law.

LL.M. Maarten MICHIELS is the author of various contributions in legal journals and other literature and has given many lectures on environmental planning.

LL.M. Maarten MICHIELS intervenes both for local governments and enterprises as for private individuals.

In 2013-2014 LL.M. Maarten MICHIELS followed the special training juvenile law. Since then he is regularly appointed as a lawyer for minors who are confronted with worrying parenting situations and criminal litigations.
